Hello HoopsWood Parents,
The purpose of this is to provide information about the upcoming AAU season for HoopsWood boys interested in playing on a Spring team. HWD NXT teams will be selected for grades 4-6. HWD NXT is run through HoopsWood for players in Homewood, and to participate, the player must reside in Homewood City limits.
Philosophy
Teams are designed to teach players how to play within the Homewood basketball system and continue player development. With that in mind, we will prioritize practice time, and teams will practice 2-3 times per week during the AAU season.

Team Selection
The number of teams and team size will vary by age group and depend upon the total number of players registered. The selection process will be similar to the one from the fall, but using Team and Internal League practices for evaluation. Our goal is to have a manageable number of players for each team and allow for optimal efficiency at practices.
Locations/Travel
All practices will be held in the Homewood area, and all tournaments will be in the Birmingham area.
Coaches
We will select highly qualified, professional coaches that are well acquainted with our playing style and coaching philosophies at the high school level.
