Boys Basketball
All Hoopswood leagues are competitive and play against other communities. The number of players determines the amount of teams in each age group and may vary between age levels.
HWD NXT is for Hoopswood boys that want to continue playing basketball on a Spring Team for the upcoming AAU season. Teams will be selected for current grades 5th-6th. HWD NXT is run through the Hoopswood organization. To participate, your player must reside within Homewood City limits.
Teams are designed for player development and teaching players how to play within the Homewood basketball system. With that in mind, we will prioritize practice time, and teams will practice 2-3 times per week during the AAU season.
$25 evaluation fee
$800 Participation Fee (collected in two payments of $400 and covers the following expenses):
Number of teams and team size will vary by age group and depend upon the total number of players registered. The selection process will be similar to the one from the fall. Our goal is to have a manageable number of players for each team and allow for optimal efficiency at practices.
All practices will be held in the Homewood area, and all tournaments will be in the Birmingham area.
We will select highly qualified, professional coaches that are well acquainted with our playing style and coaching philosophies at the high school level.
